Founded in 2009 by Daniella Luxembourg and Amalia Dayan and joined by Alma Luxembourg in 2011, Luxembourg & Dayan maintains an international presence with spaces in New York and London, as well as presentations at major art fairs. Its unique program focuses on historical exhibitions of significant postwar European artists. In revisiting some artists' careers, the gallery introduces a new audience to their oeuvres while simultaneously generating renewed critical interest. These historical exhibitions are complemented by projects with living artists, as well as the presentation of innovative thematic group exhibitions. An effort to further the dialogue between postwar and contemporary modes of expression resides at the crux of the gallery’s program. The gallery has established strong, ongoing relationships with exhibited artists and estates and publishes scholarly catalogues on the occasion of each exhibition.
