Luxembourg & Dayan is pleased to host a two-night performance by Aki Sasamoto.

Performed on the evenings of June 26th and July 1stSkewed Lies / Parallel Stare will unfold throughout the gallery's townhouse, switching in and out of such familiar formats as lecture, comedy, confession, and formal theater. Sasamoto manipulates prosaic real life experiences - from receiving a wedding invitation from her brother via email, to her distaste of "morning granola eaters" - to create idiosyncratic narratives.

Conceived as an extension of Sasamoto's Skewed Lies, which debuted in 2010 as part of Greater New York at MoMA PS1, the performance at Luxembourg & Dayan will include a new collaboration with musician Matt Bauder and actress Jessica Weinstein.

Skewed Lies / Parallel Stare is part of the Body/Building performance series taking place this summer at Luxembourg & Dayan, and organized by Tamar Margalit.
