Conversations : Have Your Way With Images

2018

CONVERSATIONS is a periodical publication dedicated to the promotion of new perspectives on art of the twentieth century. The project draws on Luxembourg & Dayan’s ongoing series of panel discussions and interviews with leading contemporary artists, curators and scholars, who analyse the legacy of important protagonists and events that contributed to the development of their own practice.

The second issue of CONVERSATIONS is titled ‘Have Your Way With Images’. Published in December 2018, this issue sets out to question the ability of artists to assert control over the images that they author, whether in the process of producing, appropriating, or exhibiting their work. The publication is edited by Yuval Etgar and includes: a discussion between David Campany, Linder, and John Stezaker on the use of found footage in and after the age of mechanical reproduction, a discussion between Joseph Kosuth and Sarah Whitfield on René Magritte's Paris Years (1927-30), and a conversation between Alma Luxembourg and Cornelia Parker on the legacy of Alighero Boetti's work.
