Conversations 4: Crossing Over

2020

CONVERSATIONS is a periodical publication dedicated to the promotion of new perspectives on art of the twentieth century. The project draws on Luxembourg + Co.'s ongoing series of panel discussions and interviews with leading contemporary artists, curators and scholars, who analyse the legacy of important protagonists and events that contributed to the development of their own practice.

The fourth issue of CONVERSATIONS, titled ‘Crossing Over’ and published in December 2020, is dedicated to the transformative potential implicated in forced or voluntary physical distance. Three conversations populate this booklet: the first, between architect Daniel Libeskind and curator Francesco Bonami on the subject of the absence and distance in art and architecture. The second, between fashion designer Alber Elbaz and artist Derrick Adams on fashion as a means for transformation. Finally, the third, between curator Nicola Trezzi and artist Irma Blank on the relationship between linguistic and formal communication in writing, art and online.
